Balancing
An unbalanced motor can cause vibration and premature bearing destruction, ultimately leading to downtime and lost business.
Many things can cause unbalance, including blow holes in castings, additions of keys and keyways, distortion, corrosion or wear, deposits or buildup and hydraulic or aerodynamic unbalance.
Balancing your motor reduces vibration levels, prolongs the life of bearings and equipment, and ensures that your equipment operates at maximum efficiency.
At Keener Electric Motors, our two balancing systems enable us to service your equipment in the shop or in the field.
Dyne Balancer — This machine uses a belt system to rotate the motor, allowing us to measure and reduce vibration levels to meet or exceed industry standards. It can balance multiple items, with the exception of those that cannot be balanced together and those that cannot drive themselves.
PRUFTECHNIK VIBXPERT II — Our portable system allows us to monitor vibration on equipment that is too large to transport to our shop, such as exhaust fans, oxidizer fans, dust collector fans, forced draft (FD) fans, inducted draft (ID) fans, hammer mills, grinders and spindle hands.
